Join the fight to keep rent and property taxes low:
Why We Need The Gallagher Amendment
While rent and mortgages across Colorado continue to increase, the Gallagher Amendment provides a check that stops rates from skyrocketing at levels seen in some other U.S. cities. Because of Gallagher, state legislators cannot arbitrarily raise property tax assessment rates whenever they feel like it.
Even with rising property values across much of the state, Gallagher has ensured that Colorado remains an attractive place to buy a home. Especially during a recession, we should not be increasing the cost of homes and apartments.
Some people are rightfully concerned about what Gallagher means for businesses in our state because they’re bearing the brunt of property taxes. The problem with Amendment B, however, is that it would do nothing to help business. This problem can and should be addressed in a different way.
Vote NO in Amendment B so that we can work together on a regional approach that works better for rural Colorado without increasing everyone’s taxes.

"On top of incomes taxes, sales taxes, and skyrocketing fees, politicians now want more property taxes too. Enough is enough."
